The NYPD is on the hunt for an armed robber that it says has struck at least 10 times in the Bronx.
The suspect was captured on security video wearing a motorcycle helmet when police say he held up six Bronx businesses – most at gunpoint.
PLS Check Cashing on East 149th Street was hit three separate times, and police say the suspect used two different mopeds, one black and the other blue, to escape after some of the incidents.
The string of crimes dates back to early June 2022, when police say the suspect pulled a gun on a 54-year-old worker at Romero Fruit Market while dragging him toward the register.
NYPD officials say the two most recent attempts were last Thursday at check cashing facilities. One of these attempts was foiled when an employee set off an alarm. No people were hurt in these two latest incidents.
The suspect has gotten away with over $1,300, most of which was ripped out of a victim’s hand standing on the street.
