woman has been arrested in connection to the fatal stabbing of her girlfriend,
police say.
The incident allegedly happened inside a home
on East Main Street in Riverhead during a fight between two women in their 20s.
Police say 21-year-old Karen Abigail Delacruz Reyes stabbed her girlfriend 20-year-old
Marta Esmeralda Ramirez Carbajal.
Reyes allegedly got into a
car with the victim's family and drove to the Peconic Bay Medical Center.
Ramirez
was pronounced dead at the medical center.
Reyes was arrested at the hospital and is now charged with manslaughter.
She was held without bail at her arraignment today.
