A pop-up library inspired by a French designer has made its way to the Bronx for kids to stretch their imaginations.
The facility, known as the Ideas Box, includes a media center - complete with books, Internet access, cameras and tablets.
The mobile unit, presented by Libraries Without Borders, Dreamyard, New York Public Library and the Alexander Soros foundation, officially opened at Hayden Lord Park Wednesday.
The unit is staffed with volunteers from Libraries Without Borders and Dreamyard. They say the project is about exploration and thinking out loud.
"It's as rewarding as an experience that you can have. The diversity of tools here being given to people in really a fun way, it's a great way to spend a summer day," says Alexander Soros.
The Ideas Box will be open Tuesday to Saturday from 1 to 6 p.m.
