This past Friday was decision day for Mayor Eric Adams – would he sign, veto or do nothing regarding the How Many Stops Act. The bills would require the NYPD to report on more interactions with people on the street than they used to and include more detailed information.
The mayor vetoed the act, along with a bill which would ban solitary confinement in city jails.
Public Advocate Jumaane Williams and Council Member Alexa Aviles joined Kurt Semder to talk about what’s next for the act.
Also, News 12’s Jonathan Gordon had a wide-ranging interview with Rep. Jamaal Bowman before he kicks off his reelection campaign.
And, many Brooklyn elected officials are demanding the Department of Transportation increase safety near intersections to improve visibility at curbs for pedestrians, cyclists and even drivers.
