The future of skating is also a new restaurant owner alongside his mother in Soundview.
Termisha Henry is heading up Taste So Good on Lafayette Avenue. She is joined by her son Tyshawn Jones, who was named Thrasher's 2018 Skater of the Year.
Jones has also been the face of Supreme's "Blessed" campaign, which can be seen all over the city.
Jones became a pro skater at 17 years old and used his career to take care of his family by the time he was 19.
Taste So Good offers up home-style Caribbean-American food. Henry thinks the restaurant was an addition Soundview needed.
"We're giving you home-style cooking here. Baked macaroni and cheese from scratch, corn bread from scratch...collard greens from scratch," says Henry.
Jones says he has his eyes on another business venture he may dabble into: Real estate.
