Protesters are calling on Mayor Eric Adams and the City Council to replace horse-drawn carriages with electric carriages. 
Advocates say the long-standing tradition to see the city via horse is "cruel" and "unsafe."
A bill is being introduced by Queens Democratic Council Member Robert Holden to swap the horse-drawn carriages with e-carriages by June 2024.
Holden has said, "This practice must end."
