Community members in Mott Haven rallied Friday to denounce gun violence, just steps away from where a man was gunned down at the Patterson Houses last week.
The rally was organized by the group “Save Our Streets” and included leaders, politicians, and community members from the South Bronx.
Speakers said they want to bring change and positivity to Mott Haven.
The rally comes after Cheyenne Carter was fatally shot last Friday night. Police found Carter in front of a Patterson Houses building with gunshot wounds to his head and torso.
Police are currently looking for two men who they say fled the scene. They are asking anyone with information about the incident to come forward.
