A celebration of queer love through images and contemporary art is now on display at Lehman College.
The art of more than four dozen artists is now available to view in two New York City art galleries, including in the Bronx at Lehman College.
The exhibit is called "Queer Love: Affection and Romance in Contemporary Art." It explores the different expressions of love after a meeting back in the fall of 2019 sparked a push to support more of the LGBTQ community on and off campus.
“There’s a lot of figurative work, there’s a lot of very beautifully exited work,” said Bartholomew Bland, executive director of the Lehman College Art Gallery. “I think because love is universal but also incredibly specific… every artist is working from their personal experience, translating their own sort of romantic personal experiences into their art.”
The exhibition is free and will run through April.
