Rep. Ritchie Torres provided an update on the impacts in the Bronx from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law passed by Congress in 2021.
Torres says 27,000 jobs were added in the borough over those two years. He adds Bronx residents can expect to continue to see more jobs and more investments in the borough because of the legislation.
"We see $100 million federal investment in the redevelopment of Hunts Point, which is the largest food distribution center in the country. So the Bronx is benefitting enormously from both the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law and the Inflation Reduction Act."
The Inflation Reduction Act gave Medicare the power to negotiate down prices of the most expensive drugs for the first time. According to Torres, it has driven down prescription drug costs for more than 650,000 New Yorkers.
