A new report says the number of homeless people in New York City is on the rise.
The report, conducted by the Coalition for the Homeless, says there are 7,000 more homeless New Yorkers than there were two years ago.
Last February, Mayor Bill de Blasio said in his State of the City address that veterans in New York would no longer be homeless by the end of 2015.
In response to the rising numbers, the mayor has committed over $2.5 billion to build more housing for the homeless and provide mental health services.
