Retail reports show Valentine's Day spending is up across the country this year.
According to the National Retail Federation, the average person is expected to spend about $146 on the holiday, which could amount to $19.7 billion total.
Columbia Florist in Kingsbridge, which appeared busy Tuesday afternoon, says the rush hasn't even begun.
And a local Edible Arrangements reported that it was taking more orders this year than in 2015.
One resident said the reports were probably true. He said he planned on doing something big this year, but couldn't remember what he did last year.
"So it probably wasn't as much as I could have done," he said.
