The splitting of a sidewalk due to a tree by a curb is causing a tensions between a Country Club homeowner and the Parks Department.

The tree that is damaging the sidewalk is the city's tree, but it has increasingly caused issues on Carmela Muccio's property.

Muccio says the root has caused problems since 2009, and she has contacted the city's Parks Department, documenting her attempts, with nothing coming of it. Frustrations come from instances like one call in November 2013 – they were supposed to call her back, butshe says they never did.

Muccio recognizes that there may be worse sidewalks that need fixing in the area, but she's angered that even her willingness to foot the bill for repairs still hasn't led to results.

She says she's called a few specialists for help, but they all refused in fear of getting in trouble with the city.

A statement from the Parks Department says their records include two requests filed for the site, and say they plan to make an in-person inspection in the fall.
