Bronx residents endured the third consecutive day of humidity and heat across the borough Friday.
The National Weather Service had issued a heat advisory for the city through Friday evening.
Residents kept cool in the shade and took advantage of the water sprinklers at the Williamsbridge Oval Park.
K-Mart says shoppers have been coming in to purchase air-conditioning units as a way to beat the heat.
Other residents tell News 12 they cooled off by visiting Menchie's Frozen Yogurt and treating themselves to something sweet.
While News 12 meteorologists say temperatures this weekend will be slightly cooler, topping out in the upper-80s, medical professionals are still encouraging residents to stay hydrated.
The Office of Emergency Management announced that cooling centers will remain open throughout the city to help those who do not have air conditioning.
