Many residents are preparing to hit the road for the long Labor Day weekend, which some have been known to call the unofficial end of summer.
According to AAA, prices are down from this time last year, with flights, hotels and car rentals all being cheaper on average than they were for Labor Day 2024.
Saturday is expected to be the busiest time to travel.
Transportation data provider INRIX says mornings are usually best - and from 12 p.m. until around dinnertime is usually the worst.
Even if people are not planning on leaving the city, it could be rough getting around the area. AAA says New York City is expected to be the third most popular domestic travel destination.
That being said, gas prices are also down about 37 cents per gallon from this time last year.
