The Nassau County Fire Marshal says the building was not occupied.

Approximately 200 firefighters from Valley Stream, West Hempstead, Malverne, Lakeview, Garden City, Stewart Manor, Floral Park, Elmont, Uniondale, Lynbrook, Mineola, Inwood, and East Meadow assisted the Franklin Square Fire Department in battling the fire.

One firefighter was treated for smoke inhalation, according to Nassau County police.

Crews brought the fire under control just before 10 p.m.

Franklin Square Fire Department Chief Michael Multari says the businesses will be demolished.

Police say the fire is not deemed suspicious.

It was not immediately clear how the fire started.
