A restaurant owner in Pelham Gardens spoke with News 12 about an attempted burglary at his business.
Surveillance video shows a man climbing on top of a shed outside of Misto Restaurant and Bar on Eastchester Road. Police say the man then climbed on top of the security camera to get onto the roof, but that the suspect never got inside the business.
"It's unnerving, because it's a great area," said Michael Mazzei, chef and owner of Misto. "It is a beautiful place, people probably think we keep a lot of money in here... it's not smart, so my reaction was just surprise."
Misto's neighbors have also been keeping vigilant after this attempt. Keller Williams Realty Group works just a few doors down, and one of their employees says he's not ready to say that this is the norm in the neighborhood.
"I think it's a one-off," said Michael Brown of Keller Williams. "I've been here for 12 years and nothing has happened to us, cars you know, none of my agents have ever felt worried."
The NYPD says no arrests have been made at this time.
