A restaurant on the Coney Island boardwalk that has been shut down throughout the COVID-19 pandemic will now be open on weekends.
Ruby's Bar and Grill has been on the boardwalk since the early 1970s. It's the the oldest bar and grill on the boardwalk, and is family owned and operated.
The owners tell News 12 the shutdown has been difficult for them, but they are staying positive and are looking forward to the day they can return to full operation.
In the meantime, they will be opening on nice-weather weekends.
They will only be providing takeout and have social distancing protocol in place.
The workers will all be wearing masks and anyone waiting in line will have to stand 6 feet apart.
The owner say they want to be there for the people who look forward every year coming to the restaurant.
