The New York Botanical Garden's new scarecrow exhibit is giving visitors a scare this fall.
The exhibit, called "Scarecrows: From Heartland to Horror," showcases the evolution of scarecrows from practical use to Halloween decor. The scarecrows displayed are large and have moving eyes, hands and limbs. They were created by artist Ray Villafane.
Karen Daubmann, associate vice president for exhibitions and public engagement, says the exhibit will have actors to take people through scary walks in the garden. People will be able to walk through with only a flashlight.
The exhibit will be open until Oct. 30.
