Severe thunderstorm watch issued for NYC; storms could bring gusty winds, hail
News 12 meteorologists are tracking storms that are moving across the tri-state area this evening.
The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm watch for New York City through 8 p.m. Sunday.
A severe thunderstorm warning was also issued for Brooklyn and part of the Bronx through 7:45 p.m. Gusty winds and hail are possible.

Some storm cells began popping up across the region this afternoon. They were packing the chance for damaging, gusty winds, downpours, small hail and lightning.
Conditions were expected to dry out after sunset, with clear skies overnight.
