U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said Sunday that Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits could resume as early as Wednesday.
He made the comments Sunday morning in an interview with Jake Tapper on CNN’s “State of the Union.”
Some recipients of the federal food aid funding said they'll believe it when they see it.
"I am watching closely to see what happens because I don't believe anything until the money's in the bank," said Rosa Gonzales of Bridgeport.
Gonzales is one of an estimated 360,000 Connecticut residents who rely on the federal dollars administrated by the state.
