WHAT'S NEW: Light snow and flurries start on Long Island between 7 p.m. and 10 p.m. We are on the northern edge of a storm and the highest totals will be on the South Shore. If the storm moves a little south, less totals if the storm moves a little north, expect a little more snow.

Tonight: Light snow, steady temperature around 30. Wind chill values between 20 and 25. Calm wind becoming northeast 5 to 15 mph after midnight. New snow accumulation of 1 to 3 inches possible. Best chance for higher snow totals will be south of Sunrise Highway, lightest amounts on the North Shore.
Wednesday: Snow may impact the morning rush hour. Icy and snow-covered roads possible. A chance of snow before 9 a.m., Cloudy, with a high near 38. Wind chill values between 20 and 25. Breezy. Northeast wind 10 to 15 mph.
Wednesday Night: STORM WATCH: Snow before 10 p.m. then rain, snow, and sleet between 10 p.m. and 1 a.m., then rain after 1 a.m. Temperature rising to around 36 by 4 a.m. Wind chill values between 25 and 30. East wind 10 to 20 mph. New snow and sleet accumulation of less than a half inch possible.
