A man is facing charges after his 10-month-old daughter was killed from an overdose of fentanyl and heroin in Brooklyn, police say.
Daniel Auster, the son of author Paul Auster, has been charged with manslaughter after medical examiners determined the cause of his infant daughter’s death as a drug overdose.
Police responded to a 911 call to aid an infant inside of 426 Bergen St. in November 2021.
The 10-month-old girl was pronounced dead at the hospital.
Auster has also been charged with criminal negligent homicide.
