The NYC Ferry operated by Hornblower in Soundview will open in less than two weeks, but News 12's Anthony Carlo took a test ride Monday as crews continued to prepare to open for the public.
It took about 50 minutes to get from Clason Point Park to Pier 11 at Wall Street. The same route could take an hour and a half by bus or train.
The boat will also stop on East 90th Street and East 34th Street along the way.
A one-way trip costs $2.75, just like a subway ride.
The ferries include concession stands for coffee, drinks and snacks.
The NYC Ferry app will allow passengers to buy tickets and check real-time departures and arrivals.
"We really focused on creating that amazing experience for our riders by answering that question of ‘Where is my ferry?’" said Paul Lambson, Head of Rider Success.
The Soundview ferry will make about 22 trips a day between 6:30 a.m. and 9:10 p.m.
The official launch date is Aug. 15.
