It's been over a week since New York City was hit with a massive snowstorm, and Soundview residents are saying not much progress has been made when it comes to cleanup efforts.

They tell News 12 large piles of snow and freezing snow is making it nearly impossible to park.

"I get they're stretched out, but they need to give more resources to the Department of Sanitation, and they should be allowed more resources during this time. First month as mayor, and I don't think he's doing enough," said Jessica Gonzalez, a Soundview resident.

The Department of Sanitation says it is a day behind on trash pickup, and it is asking New Yorkers for patience while it catches up.

"This is a 24/7 operation, as is snow removal. We are running hundreds of collection trucks on every shift, 12 hours at a time until we are fully caught up. Thousands of people are working to get this done as quickly as possible," said a spokesperson for DSNY.
