For believers in the Bronx and around the world, the grotto at St. Lucy's Church offers help to those who seek it in a unique way.
The sounds of the grotto are familiar to those who live in Allerton. Each day, visitors splash water on themselves and drink from it.
It is a replica of the sanctuary of Our Lady of Lourdes in France and has attracted international attention.
For nearly 80 years since the grotto was dedicated to the church in 1939, people from all walks of life have been visiting the shrine and praying for a miracle.
