Mayor Bill de Blasio announced that nurses will be heading back to schools with returning students and teachers.
The mayor says he would be working through a partnership with NYC Health + Hospitals to contract 400 nurses in schools and 100 for early childhood centers, disbursed based on a community need.
When schools start back up again on Sept. 10, each public school in the city will have a nurse starting on the first day of classes.
It is not clear if the number of nurses in schools will be taken away from working in a public hospital.
