Law enforcement officials have identified the human remains found inside a refrigerator in Belleplain State Forest last month.
New Jersey State Police say that the remains are that of 50-year-old Laura Hughes, of Runnemede. They say Hughes’ remains were found on Dec. 22 inside the Dennis Township forest.
State police also say that 45-year-old Christopher Blevins has been charged with disturbing and desecrating human remains and hindering apprehension in connection to the crime.
It was not immediately clear how or when Hughes died.
