A Boerum Hill native has been making the most of the past few months of crisis by capturing a slice of life in New York City, one stoop at a time.
Marj Kleinman, a producer focusing on children's media for more than 20 years, has held more than 80 photoshoots on stoops across the city – she calls them Stoop Stories.
In April, she decided she wanted to focus on stories of everyday New Yorkers – from essential workers during the COVID-19, to the stories of those fighting racial injustice.
Her work showcases people from Black and brown communities.
Kleinman says she is hoping to expand the project beyond New York City.
