Rain and snow showers will fall through the early morning hours as a cold front moves across the region.
Precipitation will be drying up through the morning rush, but some roadways may be a little slick. So, please take it easy on your morning drive.
As the cold front moves past us, the winds will be picking up, driving in a chill in the air for the rest of the day. Temperatures will cool down, into the 30s but will feel into the 20s for the afternoon hours.
Temps will continue to cool down through the night and get to frigid levels for Friday morning. As the winds gust up towards 30 mph, the temps could feel as cold as around zero degrees. Get ready to grab that winter gear again and keep it around for a while.
Speaking of winter weather, we may deal with snow showers over the course of the holiday weekend. There is a snow shower chance for Saturday as a system moves through the northeast. Accumulations may get towards a coating, at best. But Sunday, we may see a coastal storm (that will be moving up the east coast but stay offshore) be close enough to the Hudson Valley to put some accumulating snow on our grounds. For now, it is something we are monitoring. Monday is Martin Luthor King Jr. Day and it will be cold and breezy but at least our skies will be shower free.
