Three things to know:
Light snow showers survived the journey down to the Hudson Valley, from the Great Lakes, overnight. North of I-287 and south of I-84 may be where we find some slick spots and black ice concerns for the morning rush.
Temperatures will move up through the day today, with many spots getting into the low to mid-30s. That is a cooler trend than yesterday, so less snow melt is expected for the daytime hours. Any melt that does occur will lead to some icy patches forming for Friday morning's rush. Through the day today, there will be breezy winds we'll have to deal with. Gusts may get towards 20-30 mph.
Temperatures, for the most part, will be trending above average through the rest of the week and next week. The average high is 40 degrees and it is a welcomed treat compared to all the frigid days we have dealt with in the past.
We are still keeping our eyes on a snow and wintry mix chance for Sunday into Monday. A system has been trending to be coming our way but inching a little further south of the Hudson Valley. Still, keep an eye out for more forecast updates.
