A winter storm watch is in effect Saturday evening to Sunday morning with accumulating snow in the forecast. More snow chances are in the forecast for next week.
Sunshine returns Friday, with gusty winds in the afternoon and highs in the low 40s.
The weekend starts dry, with increasing clouds through the day Saturday. Snow arrives in the evening and becomes heavy overnight. By Sunday morning the South Shore could have 1 to 3 inches of snow with 3 to 6 inches on the North Shore.
Snow could briefly end as a mix, with drier weather for Sunday afternoon. Be prepared for slippery travel Saturday night and Sunday morning.
We get a break from stormy weather on Monday, with sunshine before the next winter storm when the chance for accumulating snow again arrives Tuesday into Wednesday.
Unsettled weather could persist into the following weekend.

OVERNIGHT: Mostly cloudy, with some fog followed by clearing skies. Lows near 36 degrees with northwest winds 10 to 15 mph.
FRIDAY: Mostly sunny and breezy, with highs near 41 degrees. Northwest winds 15 to 35 mph. Mostly clear and cold at night with northwest winds 10 to 20 mph. Lows near 22 degrees.
SATURDAY: Partly sunny, with snow developing by the evening. Highs near 36 degrees. Periods of snow at night with 1 to 3 inches expected on the South Shore and 3 to 6 inches on the North Shore. Lows near 31 degrees.
SUNDAY: Morning snow showers ending as a light wintry mix or rain. Mostly cloudy in the afternoon. Highs near 39 degrees. Lows near 22 degrees.
MONDAY: Mostly sunny and cold, with highs near 34 degrees. Lows near 24 degrees.
TUESDAY: Mostly cloudy, with a good chance for snow. Highs near 36 degrees. Lows near 26 degrees.
