Sunday's intense storms caused a tree to take down a portion of scaffolding in Wakefield.

The massive tree that blocked East 228th and Bronx Boulevard was just some of the damages from the storm.

It was not immediately clear as of Sunday night if any cars or people were in the path of the fallen tree.

Streets surrounding the area were blocked off and cars were being redirected to areas not effected by the storm as of Sunday night.

Residents said the devastation will impact the daily routine.

"Imagine you came outside and see your car under a big tree. That would be devastating. There's a lot of kids who go to school who pass through this community. So if the road is closed for a bit, it's going to be a little bit awkward for the kids. Also, me getting to work," said one resident.

City officials urge residents to call 311 if they see any downed trees or power lines.
