Gusty winds during Wednesday's storms brought down trees and power lines across New Jersey
One hard-hit area was Hillside, where a large tree came crashing down on a home. There were no injuries from the incident. The homeowner tells News 12 that town officials have deemed the home safe enough to stay. Crews are expected to remove the tree in the 1400 block of Highland Avenue later today.
Another damaged area was in Bridgewater, where Washington Valley Road was closed between Mallard Drive and Tullo Road due to a large tree in the roadway.
Officials say strong winds caused a brush fire in Jackson Township off Bennets Mills Road. The fire burned 11 acres of land before crews put it out.
The strong winds caused multiple power outages across the state.
Utility crews were out in full force making repairs to get the lights back up for thousands of New Jersey residents.
