The Strides Against Cancer Walk brought thousands of New York City residents together to raise funds in the fight against breast cancer.
The 5K event in the Bronx took place on the Orchard Beach boardwalk, where cancer patients, survivors and supporters walked together to help fight the disease.
This year, organizers set up the "Survivor Village," an area where those personally affected by cancer could be pampered with makeovers, facials, massages and more.
The event is in its 13th year in the Bronx. The funds raised goes to resources and support for cancer patients.
Last year, the walk rose over $500,000 with 1,500 participants. Organizers expect to surpass those numbers this year.
