Children with disabilities in the Bronx are receiving a unique form of musical therapy, using the very thing some of them struggle with – their voices.
The students at Lavelle School for the Blind and Visually Impaired learned how to beatbox Tuesday. Instructors for the Beat Rockers program say their goal was to allow the students to express themselves.
They recorded each student's sound to create a collaborative song. The class recreated the theme song for The Price is Right.
The class meets twice a week. The Beat Rockers program says they are looking to expand to other schools in the community.
