Hundreds of students and staff members at Jane Addams Campus in Morrisania celebrated a "historic renaming" of the largest public charter school network in New York City.
The charter network is now known as United Charter Highschools. The network serves 3,000 students in the Bronx, Brooklyn and Queens.
Three students were also awarded scholarships for their contribution in choosing the network’s name out of 300 students who also submitted names and essays.
