A man in East Patchogue died while he was clamming with his friends Tuesday.

It happened in the Great South Bay behind Grove Avenue.

Suffolk police say the man had a medical problem while he was out on the water.

They say he was in knee deep when he dropped and fell into the water.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

His name has not yet been released.
