Mostly cloudy the rest of today with temperatures in the upper 30s and low 40s. Chance of a few sprinkles or flurries this evening.
A weak weather system will move south of Long Island overnight and there is a chance of a few passing flurries or snow showers. Skies will clear toward morning and with another day of melting during the daylight hours we watch for a re-freeze overnight as temperatures will drop into the 20s overnight.
Heading into the weekend we have a lot of changes. Friday will feature lots of sunshine with highs in the upper 30s and low 40s. Dry weather Friday night with lows around 30. Saturday will be sunny and relatively warm. Highs 42 to 48. An arctic front arrives Sunday morning which will bring a period of snow showers. Some minor snow accumulation possible Sunday morning, right now a coating to 2 inches. The quick hitting snow showers can create slick-icy roads. It will be breezy and colder for the afternoon with highs in the 30s and feels like temperatures in the 20s.
The trend for the storm on Monday has trended south. As of now, expect cloudy skies and some flurries or snow shower. If the storm tracks north, we may need the shovels. The overall weather pattern for next week looks active with more changes of rain and snow on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.

Sunday: A period of light snow is likely Sunday morning. An arctic front with cold air is likely to produce a coating to 2 inches. Watch out for slippery travel on Sunday morning.
Next Week: Monday looks cold with the the chance of some light snow as a storm will track south of Long Island. The trend has been for the storms to stay south of Long Island Monday and Tuesday during the day.
