Red spraypainted swastikas were found at three Jewish institutions in Brooklyn on Wednesday.
The Magen David Yeshivah in Gravesend was one of the buildings that was vandalized. Police say they were notified by security guards just before 7 a.m.
Community members told News 12 they were inside the building praying when they heard the commotion.
“Then we saw this, against the Jewish people, against everything, it’s very scary," said Joe, a Gravesend resident.
Two other places were vandalized as well, including Washington Cemetery and an unknown Jewish Social Services organization.
There is no word at this time whether these incidents are linked.
“Because usually in America we don’t see something like this," said Joe.
The NYPD Hate Crimes Unit is investigating.
