It was the home of the Bridgeport Bluefish for 20 years, and now the soon-to-be-open Hartford HealthCare Amphitheater in Bridgeport will host its first concert.
News 12 Connecticut was granted a special behind-the-scenes look inside ahead of opening night.
The 6,000-seat amphitheater will kick off its first show with REO Speedwagon and Styx on July 28.
The theater includes three levels with VIP suites on top, concession stands and kiosks scattered throughout the building, and more than 70 bars.
Some local vendors inside include Hoodoo Brown BBQ, Pepe's Pizza, and Little Pub.
The old Bluefish dugout has been transformed into an area for drinks, and part of the main concourse has been transformed into the Corona Beach House.
The sound system and the architecture of the amphitheater were built with 1 million pounds of steel, so the show can go on rain or shine.
Concerts will be booked through Live Nation.
