A popular Throgs Neck music venue for teenagers is back in business.
Located underneath the First Lutheran Church, Bronx Underground initially closed its doors in 2015 after a 15-year run of bringing live music to teens.
The owners wanted to pass on the baton but couldn't find anyone to fit the task until recently.
The new group in charge says their goals remain largely the same -- give Bronx kids a space where they can listen to live music while providing a safe place for them to stay out of trouble.
“I grew up with this in high school and to see this back now is extremely nostalgic” said a former frequenter of the venue. “And I’m hoping it pushes forward for the next generation of Bronx teens.”
Entry costs $10. The space is drug- and alcohol-free.
Friday was meant as a test to see if there's still demand for the Underground.
