Temperatures to warm up rest of the week, rain expected for New Year’s Eve

NEXT: Warming up even more -- we get to the 50s by Friday. The holiday weekend still looks a bit wet with a period of light to moderate rain Saturday afternoon into early Sunday.

SATURDAY - NEW YEAR’S EVE - WEATHER TO WATCH - This is NOT a major storm, but rainy, breezy conditions developing during the afternoon and evening, lasting through the overnight. Poorly timed for New Year’s Eve parties. Highs around 53 degrees. Lows near 43.
SUNDAY - NEW YEAR’S DAY - WEATHER TO WATCH - A period of steady rain to start the day, likely tapering off through the morning. Highs around 56. Lows near 39.
MONDAY: Mostly sunny. Still mild. Highs around 51. Lows near 35.
