More than a month after the power went out in the Jackson Houses in Melrose, tenants say they are still experiencing issues.
Tenants say generators continue to keep the power on after the transformer exploded in the basement of the Park Avenue building.
Tenants told News 12 that the generator fails multiple times a week, which causes the lights to go out.
Those who live on high floors in the building are frustrated when there is no power to run the elevators.
The New York Housing Authority responded to the complaints in a statement, saying, "NYCHA is closely monitoring the situation at Jackson Houses to ensure residents have consistent electrical services as we completely update the development's electrical system."
