Tenants gathered in the Bronx Monday to protest a landlord who has been ranked among the worst in New York City by city advocates.
Residents who occupy 22 of the buildings owned by Ved Parkash gathered in front of Bronx Housing Court Monday morning to demand better living conditions.
The tenants say they wrote a letter to Parkash describing deplorable conditions inside their buildings and demanding he fix them, but that his lawyers responded with a letter simply stating nothing was wrong.
They also voiced their concerns about the banks who continue to loan money to Parkash so that he can build more properties to rent.
Although Parkash has recently fallen from No. 1 to fourth on the list of worst landlords in the city, tenants who live in his building say he's not doing anyone any favors by buying more buildings and failing to maintain them.
News 12 reached out to both Parkash and his son, Anurag, for comment, but has not yet heard back.
