Plows are clearing the snow and slush off Long Island roadways, and salting and sanding to keep drivers safe.
People News 12 spoke with Saturday after the snowstorm say conditions are improving but be careful if you're hitting the road as some spots may still be slippery.
Tommy Nocella, of Syosset, says he plowed snow all night into the morning.
"Now it's getting a little busy because traffic is starting to come but through the night it was nice and quiet and I was able to get the job done," he said.
It's not just roads that may still be slick but parking lots where shoppers are walking to and from their cars, like at Target in Commack.
"The parking lots could use a little work, but everything looks pretty good," said Chris Kidonakis, from Commack.
Now that the snow has stopped falling, people are finding ways to have some fun in the snow, like breaking out the sleds to go sledding at Hauppauge High School.
"Some snowballs, some sled riding, and some hot coco by the fire," said Matt Accardi, from East Northport.
