Talk about starting summer with a bang!
The Town of North Hempstead is set to host a drive-up fireworks show over Memorial Day weekend -- on Saturday, May 29.
The show will take place at Hempstead Beach Park. Attendees will remain in their cars to ensure social distancing and will pay a $10 parking fee.
Officials are also asking everyone to bring nonperishable foods to be donated.
"Island Harvest has been partnering with the town for some time now through all of our concerts and all of our movies ... we've requested people make these donations, and we are continuing that tradition as well," says North Hempstead Town Clerk Wayne Wink.
Gates will open at 5:30 p.m., with the show starting at 9 p.m.
