Two plumbers hospitalized after falling into basement of Morris Heights home

Two plumbers have been hospitalized after falling into the basement of a Morris Heights home on Tuesday.
Emergency crews say the workers were on the first floor of a six-story apartment building on Undercliff Avenue when the ground under them collapsed.
Emergency crews say the incident happened around 1:30 p.m.
Tenant Deyanira Tavarez tried to communicate with them after the accident. She said this was supposed to be a routine job that went terribly wrong.
"They looked like they were unconscious because I told them that everything was OK and I am going call the super, but he didn't answer me," said Tavarez.
Cellphone video captured the moments after it happened. Tenants told News 12 that they were replacing a bathtub.
The FDNY carried the victims away on stretchers. News 12 is told they were taken to Saint Barnabas Hospital with serious injuries, but are expected to be OK.
