Family, friends and supporters held a vigil Sunday night for Payton Thompson, the 9-year-old who was found dead after a house fire in Brownsville.
The massive house fire occurred on Howard Avenue early Friday morning.
Her grandmother and mother were also home but managed to be saved along with eight other family members.
Friends and family gathered outside the family's home which is now unlivable. Slowly but surely, a memorial formed as loved ones shared their favorite memories with the young girl who they said could capture a room with her personality.
The firefighters that saved Payton's family also attended the vigil.
Her family said they are thankful for all the support and asked everyone to continue to send them prayers.
The family set up a GoFundMe page to pay for Payton's funeral and to help them find a new home.
