A game that started in the Dominican Republic is now being played outside one of the most iconic ballparks in the country.
Dozens of players joined the second annual Red Bull Clasico de Vitilla on Sunday for a chance at a cash prize and a way to improve their baseball skills.
The competition resembles the game of baseball and was held at Joseph Yancey Track and Field outside Yankee Stadium.
Vitilla replaces a baseball bat with a broomstick and a ball with a bottle cap. The typical baseball diamond is also replaced with a triangle.
The winning team took home a cash prize of more than $1,000.
