The cleanup continues in the Bronx as multiple neighborhoods were vandalized throughout the night on Monday.
Dozens of volunteers came together Wednesday morning in the Hub to help pick up garbage and sweep the streets in their community.
Residents tell News 12 they were hoping they wouldn’t wake up to the destruction many Bronx residents experienced the night before.
People in the neighborhood say they heard sirens going off in the middle of the night throughout the Hub, but nothing was vandalized.
On Tuesday night, a group of volunteers started posting signs throughout the Hub, showing which businesses were immigrant-owned.
"Honestly, it's pretty heartwarming to see the signs up. We are dealing with some graffiti and trash, but for the most part seems people were pretty respectful,” says one neighbor.
Many hope the signs will help deter people from breaking in and looting these businesses in the Hub.
