When thermometers cross into the 90s on Wednesday, it will mark our second heat wave of 2025. The region had near record-breaking temperatures for Tuesday, with the highest temperature at Central Park being 97 degrees.
A heat advisory is in effect for the borough until 8 p.m. Wednesday. The afternoon and evening could see some spotty pop-up showers and storms.
OVERNIGHT: Muggy and warm. Uncomfortable. Lows in the high 70s and low 80s.
WEDNESDAY: More dangerous heat. Mostly sunny to start. Highs in the middle 90s, once again feeling closer to triple digits. Sun and clouds to start with pm pop-up showers or storms. Lows in the high 70s.
THURSDAY: Evening storms with flash flood chances. Highs in the 80s, lows in the high 60s and lower 70s.
FRIDAY: Taste of autumn. Highs at their warmest in the middle 70s. Some lingering am rain showers.
